Our Mission: To promote Men’s health by building on education and advocacy to maintain and to take charge of their health. Our goal is to bring men’s health out of the shadows – to help break down the barriers that exist in our society over how men deal with their health needs, navigate the intimidating health care system, fight for their rights, explore new treatments and to engage in a healthy dialog with their families members. About Us: The New England Men's Health Initiative (NEMHI) is a 501-c-3 non-profit educational and advocacy group founded by Jeffrey V. Rabuffo, M.D., F.A.C.S. Our effort is to build public awareness about the various health issues men face during the course of their lives, how to recognize these challenges, share experiences and break down the wall of silence so men can have full, healthy lives. As a health care professional in the area of general urology, Dr. Jeff has been dealing with men's health issues and has amassed a lifetime of experiences from several perspectives - as a caregiver, business owner, and as a patient. He created NEMHI to bring knowledge and drive public policy to improve awareness, develop new treatments, and build confidence among men. We are currently engaged with the state Department of Motor Vehicles to design and promote a special license plate that highlights men’s health. We are very excited about the positive reaction from state leaders to move forward with this initiative. NEMHI also produces and distributes a regular half hour radio program, Dr. Jeff Says, that showcases health issues and the circumstances in which men find themselves. Dr Jeff Say airs live on Mondays at 11a.m. on WMRD 1150 with replay on Wednesdays at 11am, and on ESPN radio 97.9 (Hartford, CT) on Sundays at 8a.m. This past fall we held our first fundraising event, Eli's Mustache Dash, a 5K Road Race in Middletown, CT, to raise awareness of testing for prostate cancer. Our back office structure is small, made up of one full-time staff person and a part-time administrative aide. We may also employ some specialists for specific goals, but most of the funds raised will go into building our name and offering information. Currently, we are seeking new board members that can spare some time building our network of allies, looking for new financial partners, being engaged in our various public activities, and legitimizing our presence. Please Donate: The New England Men's Health Initiative (NEMHI) is a 501-c-3 non-profit, making your donation tax deductible. Please send your donation to: New England Men’s Health Initiative P.O. Dr. Jeff Says

The American myth about males being stoic, strong and quiet about their health has prevented many men from living full and complete lives. Many men are simply unsure about asking the questions needed of their health care providers and then seeking support from their families or friends.
